What the game knows, and what it doesn't.
No data selling, no hidden tracking. Ads come from Google AdMob, and the choice is yours.
In force from 15 September 2026
Quiz Ultimatum is a quiz and dare party game published by Simulated Sphere Innovations Private Limited. This policy covers the game on Android, iOS and the web, and the pages we publish for it.
The short version
- We collect what the game needs to work: your account, your username and avatar, and your match results.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob, which uses your device's advertising identifier. In the EEA and UK you are asked first, and you can change your choice at any time.
- We do not sell your personal information for money.
- Other players see your username, avatar and scores, never your email address.
- You can delete your account and data at any time from inside the game, or ask us by email if you no longer have it installed: delete your account.
- The game is for players aged 13 and above.
Information you give us
- Email address and password, if you create an account with email. Your password is stored only as a salted, one-way hash (Argon2id). We cannot read it.
- Name and email address from Google, if you choose “Continue with Google”. Google confirms who you are; we never receive your Google password.
- Username and avatar, when you pick them. Your username can be changed once every seven days.
- Quiz topics you type, and your match settings: difficulty, number of questions, timer and question type.
- Friend requests and your friends list, including the player IDs you look up.
- Messages you send us for support or deletion requests: your email address and what you write.
If you play as a guest, you do not give us an email address. We create an account tied to a random identifier generated on your device, so that you are the same player next time you open the game.
Information created when you play
- Player ID: a 10-character code we assign, which you can share so friends can add you.
- Match history: for each match we keep the topic, the difficulty, whether it was solo or multiplayer, your score and final place, correct answers, best streak, average answer time, whether you took the dare and what the dare was, and when you played it. Only your most recent 100 matches are kept.
- Statistics and achievements: totals such as games played, wins, dares taken, best score and streaks, including your daily streak. To count days correctly, the game sends your device's calendar date when you play; it does not send your time zone or location.
- Live match data: the room you are in, your answers and their timing, scores, and your vote in the dare vote. This exists to run the match.
- Online status: whether you are online, in a match or offline, and when you were last seen. Your friends can see this.
- Purchase status: whether you have bought the ad-free upgrade, where it is offered.
Information collected automatically
- Session tokens that keep you signed in on your device.
- IP address, needed to connect your device to our servers. We also use it briefly to limit repeated attempts, for instance to stop someone guessing passwords or sending many emails. Those records expire within 15 minutes.
- Advertising data collected by the Google AdMob SDK. See Advertising and your choices, below.
Purchases, where offered, are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We receive confirmation that you bought the ad-free upgrade. We never receive your card or payment details.
How we use information
- Running the game: accounts, matches, scores, friends, history and achievements. Basis in the EEA and UK: performing our agreement with you.
- Generating quiz questions and dares from your match settings and topic only. Basis: performing our agreement with you.
- Sending verification and password-reset codes to your email address. Basis: performing our agreement with you.
- Keeping accounts secure and preventing cheating and abuse, using session tokens, IP address and account data. Basis: our legitimate interest in a safe, fair game.
- Showing and measuring ads. Basis: your consent for personalised ads in the EEA and UK; otherwise our legitimate interest in funding a free game.
- Handling requests you send us, and meeting our legal obligations.
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.
What other players can see
- In a match room: your username, avatar, score, whether you are ready, and whether you are connected. After a match, the room sees the final board and the dare vote result.
- Your friends: your username, avatar, player ID, online status, and your multiplayer wins and dares taken.
- Your email address is never shown to other players.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only with the service providers that run parts of the game for us, and only what each one needs:
- Google AdMob: shows and measures ads. Receives advertising identifier, device and app information, IP address and ad interactions.
- Google Sign-In: lets you sign in with your Google account. Confirms your identity and shares your name and email address with us.
- OpenAI: generates quiz questions and dares. Receives your match settings and topic only, never your account details.
- Resend: delivers our emails. Receives your email address and the message, such as a verification code.
- Railway: hosts our servers.
- MongoDB Atlas: hosts our database.
- Google Play and the Apple App Store: distribute the app and process purchases, governed by their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of players or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the game, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
US state privacy laws. Some US state laws treat using advertising identifiers for personalised ads as “sharing” personal information or “targeted advertising”. You can opt out as described below.
Advertising and your choices
Quiz Ultimatum is free to play and shows full-screen ads between matches, served by Google AdMob. To show, limit and measure ads, the AdMob SDK collects information from your device, including its advertising identifier, IP address (from which an approximate location can be derived), device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Google may use this information as described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- EEA and UK: before any ad is requested, the game asks for your consent through Google's consent form. You can change your choice at any time in the game under Settings → Ad privacy choices.
- iPhone and iPad: iOS asks your permission before the game may use your advertising identifier to track you across apps. You can refuse, and change it later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can delete or reset your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device's settings, usually Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Ad-free upgrade: where it is offered, buying it removes ads from the game.
Ads in the game are limited to content suitable for teenagers. The game itself does not use browser cookies; the AdMob SDK uses device identifiers and similar technologies as described above.
How long we keep information
- Account, profile, friends, statistics and achievements: until you delete your account.
- Match history: your most recent 100 matches; older ones are removed automatically.
- Verification and password-reset codes: one hour.
- Records used to limit repeated attempts: up to 15 minutes.
- Live match data: while the match runs; not used after it ends.
- Deletion and support requests: up to 12 months, as a record that we handled them.
- Advertising data held by Google: according to Google's own retention policies.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and data at any time, in either of two ways. In the game, open Settings → Delete Account and confirm; being signed in on your device is itself the proof that the account is yours, so we ask for nothing further, and this works for guest accounts too. By email, write to privacy@simulatedsphere.com with your player ID. Our account deletion page sets both out in full.
If your account has an email address, please write from that address, as that confirms the account is yours. If you played as a guest there is no address to write from, so we will confirm ownership before deleting anything. Your player ID on its own is not proof that an account is yours: the game invites you to share it so that friends can add you, so it tells us which account to delete and nothing more.
Deletion started in the game begins immediately. For an emailed request, we will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days of being satisfied the account is yours.
What is deleted: your account, email address, password hash, username, avatar, player ID, friends and friend requests, statistics, achievements, streaks, match history and sign-in sessions.
What may remain: anonymous, aggregated counts of which quiz topics are popular, which contain nothing that identifies you. We also keep the record of your deletion request for up to 12 months. Advertising data held by Google is governed by Google's policies; you can reset or delete your advertising ID on your device.
Uninstalling the game does not delete your account. Guest accounts in particular remain on our servers until you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct information that is inaccurate;
- delete your information;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it, for instance for personalised ads in the EEA and UK;
- opt out of targeted advertising or the “sharing” of personal information, in certain US states; and
- complain to your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, email privacy@simulatedsphere.com. We will need to confirm the account is yours, normally by your writing from the email address on the account, or, for a guest account, in another way we agree with you. We respond within one month, or the period your local law requires. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
Children
Quiz Ultimatum is intended for players aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
In the EEA and UK, some countries require a parent's consent before a person under 16 can agree to personalised advertising. If you are below that age in your country, please choose not to consent to personalised ads when the consent form appears.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), one-way hashing of passwords, short-lived sign-in tokens and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
Where your information is held
Our servers and database are hosted in the United States, and the service providers listed above process information there and in other countries where they operate. Simulated Sphere itself is based in India, so your information is handled across borders in the ordinary course of running the game.
Where we transfer personal information from the EEA or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or equivalent measures offered by those providers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game changes. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the game before it takes effect. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
